Allen Potter [email protected] I have been a Las Casitas Condominium Association Board member and landscape coordinator at since 2018. I was a Member, Communications and Public Relations Committee, Architectural Design Committee and Planning Commission of Medford, Oregon (2009 – 2015) I have extensive professional experience in land use, project management and site acquisition for wireless communication facilities WA, OR, CA, ID, AZ, NM. I enjoy volunteering time to support community efforts and believe I can contribute much to the PHPOA in its many endeavors. I work well with those of different backgrounds and always appreciate constructive criticism. I am happy for the opportunity to serve on the Board.
Pete Hagy [email protected] My partner, Sheri Reinhart, and I bought our home in 2019; we moved from eastern Pennsylvania to Las Cruces a year and a half later. I owned a swimming pool / hot tub business for 36 years, recently retiring. I love riding my motorcycles here year-round, and I really enjoy the friendliness of my neighbors. I have had many conversations with interesting people who all seem to have a curiosity for others and a willingness to share stories and experiences. Sheri and I joined PHPOA to enrich our Las Cruces life by meeting people and creating friendships – we haven’t been disappointed. The idea of helping the PHPOA piqued my interest. I have held leadership roles in other business and civic associations over the years and I am pleased to contribute here as well.
Sandy Carter [email protected] I married Bob 44 years ago. We relocated in 2020 to this delightful place for the warm weather. I retired from the food service industry and went to work in a boutique wine store (enjoying the fringe benefits) and continued to cater private events. I use my spare time at home to write a historical novel about my ancestors. I think it’s important for property owners to invest time and money in our Picacho Hills community to maintain and improve property values, safety, and beautification.
Sterilla Smith [email protected] Originally from Delaware, Ohio, my father was a career Army officer and as such we moved often. I have been married to Jim Creek (House, New Mexico) for 35 years. We have one daughter, Sarah (Lieutenant Colonel, Ft. Bragg, NC) and 4 grandchildren. Sarah’s husband is a Chaplain at Ft. Bragg. I graduated from Ohio Wesleyan in 1972 with a degree in Elementary Education and taught at several elementary schools in Ohio. In 1977 I received a commission in the US Army from which I retired in 2012 as Colonel. I consider my best assignment to have been as Battalion Commander, Fort Huachuca, AZ. A small (200 Soldiers) training battalion, I was responsible for sending mobilized and volunteer instructors to many locations in the US from 1999 to 2003. We maintained a strong family care group to help with the stress the mobilizations caused. I also retired from Ft. Huachuca, where I served as the civilian editor for the Military Intelligence Professional Bulletin.
Donna Marconi [email protected] After retiring from High-rise Community Management in downtown Philadelphia in 2023, my husband, Tom and I decided to move to Las Cruces to enjoy the beautiful year-round weather. We were lucky enough to find a wonderful home in the Picacho Hills neighborhood after spending a very hectic week of house hunting throughout all Las Cruces. It was so nice to find an area that had some space between the homes and a unique style of homes. Since we back up to the 9th fairway, the view of the Picacho Peak is fabulous--nothing we could ever experience in Philadelphia.
Having a background in Community Management, 26 plus years, and most of my career in various aspects of Real Estate, I wanted to be able to bring my knowledge along with my desire to make Picacho Hills one of the more prominent areas for new home buyers. The welcoming feeling that we experienced while moving in should be what everyone should feel when living in Picacho Hills. Since many residents walk for exercise, several people said hello as the moving truck was out front unloading. The two of us felt like our big decision to move 2100 miles away from everything and one we knew, was going to be a good one! One of my goals while on the PHPOA Board is to increase the membership. Explaining what the PHPOA does verses the individual HOA’s in the area is very important. The PHPOA is here to increase value of life and home investment for every individual who turns in to Picacho Hills Country Club Community.
Terri Kasmoch [email protected] Terri was born and raised in a small town about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She married Tim Kasmoch and they moved to Archbold, Ohio, for 30 years, where they raised their two children and worked together in the family lawn and garden manufacturing business. In 2015, they relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida and spent 5 years working with a property investment group buying, renovating and selling homes.
In 2019 they sold their share in the business and relocated to Las Cruces, New Mexico, to be closer to their daughter living in El Paso, Texas. In the summers they travel back to the family farm where Tim farms the land and Terri hosts the many visitors who frequent the 78 acre property in the rural community of Emlenton, Pennsylvania. Terri enjoys spending time with her 3 grandchildren and creating nature-inspired watercolor paintings.
Bruce Barker [email protected] My wife and I moved to Las Cruces and Picacho Hills in June 2023. We are currently renting while we are building our house in the Picacho Mountain subdivision. I retired after working in the IT business for about 20 years with IBM and Lockheed Martin. I worked in the Software and Systems Design / Architecture fields. After retiring from IBM, I spent 10 years as a university professor who traveled around the US and the world teaching graduate engineering courses.
I appreciate that the PHPOA provides landscaping, fundraising projects, social activities, and general clean-up activities supporting all of the neighborhoods in Picacho Hills.
Paul Migliore [email protected] Lisette and I purchased our Picacho Hills home in August 2017, and like some of you, we have been in a perpetual state of remodeling. As a career engineer, I designed U.S. Navy aircraft, taught aeronautics at two universities, was a licensed general contractor in California, a senior project manager at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, operated several small businesses and built or remodeled many homes and offices. My interests are in beautification of the community, increasing membership, and maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with the Picacho Hills Country Club.
I am pleased to have achieved my goals for the PHPOA, which were to reduce spending obligations, moderate the workload of Board members, and re-energize our landscape construction program. From serving many years on association Boards, I know that without volunteers, nothing happens. That is why I am so grateful for the participation of my fellow Board and committee members.
